RainJet Timer Programming
In general, when in programming the timer, numbers or text will be flashing on the display. Pressing the +/ON or -/OFF buttons will cause the flashing item to increment or decrement. Holding the +/ON or -/OFF down for longer for one second will cause the timer to scroll rapidly.

Pushing the NEXT button will enter the flashing digits(s) and move you to the next program step.

If a programming button (e.g. TIME/DATE, WATER DAYS, START TIMES or RUN TIMES) is pressed at any time during the programming sequence, the controller will return to the start of the program sequence.


Setting TIME/DATE
1. Press TIME/DATE button. The HOUR, Minuets will flash.
2. Press +/ON or -/OFF to set the current time. Press NEXT to enter the time and increment the program sequence.
3. Press +/ON or -/OFF to set the current year. Press NEXT to enter the year and increment the program sequence.
4. Press +/ON or -/OFF to set the current month. Press NEXT to enter the month and increment the program sequence.
5. Press +/ON or -/OFF to set the current day of week. Press NEXT to enter the day of week and increment the program sequence. This set will complete setting the Clock and Date. The timer will be in run mode

The current time will now be displayed.


Setting WATERING DAYS
There are three choices in deciding on how often to water. Only one may be set selected for a program choice.

* Setting a specific day of the week (Sunday - Saturday)
* Odd Days (Days of the Month)
* Even Days (Days of the Month)

1. Press WATER DAYS. SUN OF (off) will flash. Selecting +/ON to activate all of the days of the week. (Sunday - Saturday). You then must turn off or -/OFF to deactivate any other day in the week. Pressing NEXT will cycle through the day choices.
2. Pressing +/ON on either ODD or EVEN will select those days of the Month. Pressing NEXT to cycle through the display will show the days of the week followed by a -- (SUN-- etc.) and EVEN or ODD on.
3. Press NEXT to cycle through the remainder options.

The timer will be in run mode when the current time is displayed.


Setting Watering START TIMES
The timer allows you to program up to three watering times per day. You may activate all three or and combination. A 1, 2 or 3 to the right of the time will indicate the current cycle. Pressing the +/ON or -/OFF until the time crosses 12:00 am will set the start time to off.


1. Press START TIMES
2. Press +/ON or -/OFF to set the desired start time
3. Press NEXT to cycle through the remainder start cycles.

The timer will be in run mode when the current time is displayed.


Setting Watering RUN TIMES
The timer allows you to set a watering duration for each zone for a different length of time, from 1 minute to 99 minutes, in one minutes increments. V 1-6 in the display idenifies the selected zone.

1. Press RUN TIMES
2. Press +/ON or -/OFF to set the desired RUN TIME for V 1 (Zone one).
3. Press NEXT to cycle through the remainder RUN TIMES.

The timer will be in run mode when the current time is displayed.


Operating Timer in RUN Mode
In the RUN Mode, the timer will automatically water the programed schedule. During the watering cycle, the valve number and the run time in minutes will be displayed, until the watering run time has counted down to zero. After the last run time has completed the current time will be displayed. There will be a 5 second delay between a valve turning off and another valve turning on.


Manually Turning On Watering
You can manually water any zone at any time, if desired.

1. Press MANUAL START . (M1: OF) will be displayed with the valve run time flashing.
2. Press +/ON or -/OFF to set the number of minutes of manual watering. To disable a zone watering set the time to 00
3. Press NEXT to cycle through the remaning zones. Setting manual zone times as desired.

After all the manual times have completed the timer will display. Pressing the -/OFF at any time during the manual watering will cancel the entire manual watering sequence.


Manually Turning Off Watering
* To manually turn off watering when the timer is not running a water cycle.

1. Press -/OFF. Off will flash in the display.
2. Press +/ON to return to programed run mode.

The timer will be in run mode when the current time is displayed.

* Manually canceling a watering cycle during a watering period, will cause the timer to abort the present cycle and resume watering at the next programed cycle.

1. Press -/OFF. during watering cycle.


Default Program
If there is a loss of power, with either a dead battery or no battery the timer will automatically revert to the default program when the power is restored. The default program will water each zone for 10 minutes every day, starting at 4:00 AM, until a new watering schedule is programed.


Electronic Fuse
The timer is equipped with and electronic fuse which will idenify a shorted valve, turn off the valve control circuit on the on the shorted valve, and proceed with the next valve. At the end of the watering cycle the display will not revert back to the current time. The word BAD will be be displayed followed by the valve number of the shortrd valve. Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible Causes
Display is Blank No supply power
Transformer is not pluged in
GFI tripped
Display is Scrambled Start-up Problem. Unplug the power, remove the battery and let sit for 30 seconds. Replace battery and reapply power.
One or more valves do not turn on Faulty Solenoid.
Valve wire not connected or broken.
Flow stem on valved screwed now, shutting off valve.
Programing incorrect.
Water source not on.
Continous loss of program Battery not connected. Week battery
Electronic noise on power source.
Valves turn on when they're not suppose to Water pressure to high.
More than one start time programmed.
Valve stuck open and will not turn off Faulty valve
Particals of dirt stuck inside valve
Faulty valve diaphragm
None of the valves turn on Transformer not plugged in
Programming incorrect.
Timer will not power up Transformer not plugged in.
Dead battery
Valves continue to turn on and off when they're not programmed to do so. More than one start time programmed with overlapping schedules.
Water pressure to high.
